Alton Lynn Voiles passed away peacefully on August 5, 2024 at the age of 77. He was known as "Lynn" to all that knew and loved him. Lynn was born in Clifton, TX to William Alton Voiles and Helen Landon Voiles on March 18, 1947.
Lynn worked at Range Air and then the Santa Fe Railroad before being drafted into the U.S Army in 1967. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart before being honorably discharged from service. Lynn then worked for Azel Art Supply and retired after 44 years of employment.
Lynn took great pleasure in volunteering as a youth leader for Trinity Baptist Church in San Antonio, TX. He also loved his time coaching youth basketball and baseball.
He met the love of his life, Kendra, at a "nursing home" which had become a joke around many of their closest friends.
Lynn is survived by his wife, Kendra. He also leaves behind sons Chris and his wife Kim, Scott and his wife Robin, Curt and his wife Cinda, and Logan, as well as his bonus daughters Cherokee Tehee-Tribble and Samantha Tehee.
Also survived is sister Cindy Tharp, 13 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, nephews Keith and Rick Hester, 4 grand nieces, and 2 great grandnieces.
Lynn's battle with cancer showed his courage and strength to face life challenges to the end. He always felt he still had so much more to accomplish and do for his family.
His never-ending faith in God left the example his family desires to follow. Lynns loving personality, smiling face, and bright, encouraging attitude left a mark on all who knew him.
