Antonia Terronez

Antonia Reyna Terronez, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into eternal rest at the age of 73 on September 27, 2025. She passed away peacefully in Alvarado, Texas, surrounded by the love of her family.

Antonia was born on August 2, 1952, in Brownsville, Texas, to Ysidro Reyna and Anita Garza. From a young age, she was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and deep devotion to those she loved. Family was always at the center of her life, and she poured her heart into creating a home filled with love, warmth, and faith.

Her greatest joy in life came through her grandchildren, whom she treasured beyond words. She took immense pride in helping raise them and cherished every moment spent by their side. Known affectionately as “Grandma,” she offered not only care and guidance but also unconditional love that will remain with them forever.

For more than 12 years, Antonia—known to many as Mrs. Toni—faithfully served as a teacher of 4- and 5-year-olds at First Baptist Church of Rio Vista, Texas. Teaching was not just something she did; it was a calling. Her patience, kindness, and love for children touched the lives of countless families, and many remember her as a steady, nurturing presence who shaped their earliest experiences of faith and learning.

Antonia was preceded in death by her parents, Ysidro Reyna and Anita Garza; and her siblings, Ysidro Reyna Jr., Francisco Reyna, Mary Rodriguez, Janie Burnel, Bernarda Lopez, Refugio Reyna Sr., and Ysidro Reyna II.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Joe Terronez; her children, Rosa Reyna and Ricardo Terronez and his wife, Jamie; and her three precious grandchildren, Destiny Shukers, Haley Archer and her husband, Tyler, and Brandon Terronez and his wife, Tracie. She is also survived by her siblings, Vicki Villanueva, Rosario Cruz, and Guadalupe Reyna, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends who will forever hold her memory close.

Antonia will be remembered as a woman of grace, selflessness, and unwavering faith. She had a quiet strength and a heart that gave endlessly without expecting anything in return. Her legacy is one of love—love for her family, love for her friends, and above all, love for her Savior, Jesus Christ.

A celebration of Antonia’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the love she shared so generously.
