Cleburne, TX—Military graveside service for George Ausburn, 89, of Cleburne, Texas, will be held at 10:45 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2011 at DFW National Cemetery. Service will follow at 3 p.m. in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David den Hartog officiating.
Visitation will be held from 5 -7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at Rosser Funeral Home.
George Ausburn passed away Thursday, Dec 8, 2011, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born in Los Angeles, California on July 5, 1922, the son of Cozette Lenore (Hupp) and Franklin Pierce Ausburn.
He married Jurahee Butler on February 26, 1974 in Santa Ana, Calif.
George served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and was a foreign and domestic service engineer for Daniel Industries working in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the North Sea. He also worked in automotive racing and gun and ballistics engineering. George had a love for antique and classic cars. He was both a rugged outdoorsman and a polished gentleman. George was a member of Cleburne Bible Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
George Ausburn is survived by his wife, Jurahee Ausburn of Cleburne; sons, Bryan Gregory Ausburn and wife, Kathryn, of Burbank, CA, Bruce Morgan Sanders, Kent Bryan Sanders and wife, Karen, all of Burleson, and Blake Butler Sanders and wife, Lisa, of Cleburne; daughters, Andrea Kathleen Shearer and husband, Norman, of Bellingham, WA, Karen Ford Morris and husband, Steve, of McKinney, TX, and Cynthia Anne Davis and husband, Tod, of Manassas, VA; brother, Franklin Eugene Ausburn and wife, Marceline, of Oak Harbor, WA; sisters, Gerry Mueller and husband, Ken, of Oak Harbor, WA, Eleanor Davis and husband, Dick, of Thousand Oaks, CA, and Gayle Thacker and husband, Kenny, of Riverton, UT; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
