A memorial service for Dovie (Firestone) Baugous, 81, of Keene, Texas will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Keene Seventh-day Adventist Church in the chapel. Dovie passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at her home in Keene. She was born September 10, 1936 in New Mexico to parents Olin and Emma Firestone.
Dovie and John Baugous were married June 6, 1959 in Melrose, New Mexico. She worked as a school teacher in the Adventist school system throughout New Mexico, Texas, and Arkansas making lifelong friends at every stop along the way.
Dovie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, and several siblings.
She is survived by her sister Georgana (Firestone) Barrett and husband John, and their children Jescinda, Johnny and wife Edna; daughter Birdie (Baugous) Durichek and husband Don, daughter Robin (Baugous) Cooper and husband Jim, and son Leonard Baugous and wife Jill; grandchildren Michal and husband Billy, Rachel, Ben, Ruth, Cannon, Diane, Ashley and husband Martin, and Brooke; great grandchildren Alexi, Logan, Vanessa, Benji, Leo, and Haven; and a whole host of extended, loving family and friends.
