Beverly Lou Robnett Brand, 86, passed away January 19, 2023, in Hewitt, Texas. She was born May 10, 1936, at her grandmother's house in Wolfe City, Texas.
Beverly graduated from Wolfe City High School. She participated in many activities in Wolfe City. She sang with her sister as a duo and the two of them sang with Oma Jean McCright as a trio at various organizations and churches in and around Hunt County. She was also a member of the Drum and Bugle Corps at Wolfe City High School.
Beverly earned her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science in Education degrees from Baylor University. She was a proud member of the Class of 1958. While working on her master's degree, she met Tom Brand who was working on his doctorate at the time. They married on Aug 29, 1961 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Beverly was a devoted wife and mother. She spent many years as a stay-at-home mom before the death of her husband Dr. Thomas O. Brand. Beverly was extremely proud and supportive of her husband. He was a Sunday School teacher and deacon at Trinity Baptist Church. He was also a Professor of Education and the Head of the Department of Early Childhood Education and later the Head of Curriculum and Instruction at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He was a long time Cleburne resident and formerly a Principal at Adams Elementary School in Cleburne.
She was a retired elementary school teacher. She taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades in public schools in Fort Worth and Cleburne, Texas and in private schools in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She was also a medical receptionist for about 7 years in Lake Charles, Louisiana. After retiring, she continued to tutor children in her home. She enjoyed traveling, church activities and visiting with her friends and family. She loved to read and enjoyed taking long walks in her neighborhood.
She loved to travel. She and her husband and daughter visited the East and West coasts of the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. The last trip Beverly took was to Mount Rushmore around 2012, which was also her first plane trip. She wasn't the least bit afraid. She loved it!
She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Lake Charles, LA for over 45 years. While at Trinity, she taught children's Sunday School to 3-year-olds and 5-year-olds for over 23 years. She also volunteered in the church Media Center for 12 years. She enjoyed her Bible Study Fellowship which met once a month for 7 years in order to thoroughly study the Bible.
She moved back to Texas around 2013 to be near her family. In recent years, she became a member of First Baptist Church of Hewitt, where she enjoyed being a member of the Martha Grace ladies Sunday School class.
Beverly is survived by her daughter, Rachel Brand; by her twin sister, Carolyn Robnett Pinckard; nieces Deborah Pinckard Liles and Christie Prescher; and nephews Bruce Pinckard, Barry Pinckard, and Lonnie Prescher; 8 great nieces and nephews 2 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed but will live forever in our hearts.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Thomas Osborne Brand; father, Tom Robnett and mother, William George "Bill" Tarleton Robnett.
Pallbearers will be Barry Pinckard, Bruce Pinckard, Deborah Pinckard Liles, Justin Pinckard, Christie Prescher and Lonnie Prescher.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, from 5:00 - 7:00pm at Rosser Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at 11:00am at Rosser Funeral Chapel in Cleburne, Texas with Rev. Charley Garrison officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
