Billy Wayne Cogdill passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2026, in Cleburne, Texas, at the age of 66.

Billy was born in Cleburne on May 8, 1960, to Dorothy Merlene Westerman and Leroy Cogdill. A true 'good ol boy' who deeply loved his family, Billy made his living doing tree work. He had a great passion for country music and dancing, and he was a frequent visitor to Winstar Casino and an avid lottery player.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer and Mable Westerman, his parents Merlene Ellis and Leroy Cogdill, his big sister Linda Smith and his nieces Ashlyn Smith and Carol Riza Magers.

He is survived by brother Roy Lee Cogdill and sisters Cheryl Louise Cogdill and Cynthia White; aunt Alitia Lively; nieces Michelle Ortiz (Pancho), Crystal Deist (Richard), and Tammy LeBlanc; nephews George Smith, Jason Smith, Michael Cogdill and Christopher Cogdill. He was Grand Uncle to a host of nieces and nephews: Amy, Tommy, Nathan, Eric, Chloe, Jessica, Merallie, Connor, Noah and Elizabeth, as well as Great Uncle to Mileena, Trey, Kylo, Kylan, Koa, Jensen and Everly.
