Funeral services for Eddy Grover Boggs, 72, of Covington, Texas will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Rosser Funeral Home Chapel in Cleburne, Texas. The Rev.Tommy McNutt will officiate. Burial will follow in Rio Vista Cemetery.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Eddy Grover Boggs passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020 in Covington. He was born May 1, 1948 in Hamilton, Texas to Marylea (Moore) and Herman Grover Boggs. He married Norma Jean Cunningham on November 12, 1992 in Cleburne.
Mr. Boggs served in the United States Marine Corp. during the Vietnam era and was a former Johnson County Sheriff. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and of the Christian faith. Eddy was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Brian Boggs.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Jean Boggs of Covington, Texas; sons, Shane Boggs of Frisco, Texas, Daniel Kappel of Cleburne, Texas, Devian Ray Boggs-Perez of Joshua, Texas and Dimitri Aaron Boggs-Kappel, of Covington, Texas; daughters, Shelly Boggs of Cleburne, Texas and Neveah Sky Boggs-Kappel of Covington, Texas; grandson, Curran Boggs; granddaughter, Aspen Rain Kappel; and a host of other relatives and friends.
