IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bural Frank
Mitchell
October 20, 1940 – March 11, 2026
Visitation
Funeral Service
A funeral service for Bural Frank Mitchell, 85, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00PM, Friday, March 20, 2026, in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John Hall officiating. A time of visitation will proceed the service at 1:00PM.
Bural went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 11 in Fort Worth. He was born October 20, 1940, in Cunningham, Texas to Levi Thomas Mitchell and Nonie Melba (Hume) Mitchell. Bural married Nettie Ruth Jenkins on July 3, 1965, in Paris, Texas. He was a member of Field Street Baptist Church.
Bural worked a number of jobs over the years-factory worker, meat packer, shoe salesman, tree company foreman, insurance salesman, and culinary staff member, and he was an avid gardener. At the center of Bural's heart was a desire to take care of his family and provide what they needed. He was also a consummate storyteller, and he loved to recall his youth, including many tales about the farm on which he grew up in Franklin, Kentucky. He remembered caring for livestock and growing crops, being chased by a protective sow and kicked by a milk cow. He insisted that once, when he briefly served as a preacher in Kentucky, he was asked to perform the wedding of Johnny Cash and June Carter-if only he had had a Tennessee ministerial license. Bural also loved reading and could recall the plot of many a John Grisham and Louis Lamour novel. He now beholds the face of Jesus, where all truth is known, all questions answered, and all is again made sound and whole.
He is survived by his brother, Andy Mitchell, sister, Lisa Nichols, sons, Philip Irving Mitchell and wife, Kristin, and James Thomas Mitchell; grandchildren, Noelle Mills and husband, Matt, Nathanael Mitchell, Grace Mitchell, and Adrien Kruppenbacher.
Bural was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his son, Marvin Andrew Mitchell, and his brother, Billy Mitchell.
In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to the Awana ministry of Field Street Baptist Church.
