Callie Olene Waits, 82, of Keene, Texas passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023 in Keene. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Henderson Street Baptist Church with Pastors Eric Waits and Neale Oliver officiating.

Callie Waits was born in Italy, Texas on October 14, 1940, the daughter of Mary (Stout) and Theodore Lum Costolow.

She married Donald Waits in Fort Worth, Texas in October of 1955 and they loved traveling throughout the United States. Callie especially loved her grandkids and spending time with them. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Calvary Baptist Church and Henderson Street Baptist Church.

Callie was preceded in death by her son, Terry Don Waits; daughter, Edythe Sanders; brothers, Harvey, Calloway, and Bernerd; and sisters, Lucial, Cleta, Vernell, and Norma.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Waits of Keene; sons, Stephen Waits and wife, Gina, of Cleburne, Texas and Michael and wife, Karen, of Mansfield, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
