He was born to Evelyn Edna Carpenter of Sutton, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn of Sutton, West Virginia; grandparents, Amon and Bessie of Sutton, West Virginia; sister Alice of Cleveland, Ohio brother Joseph of Malta, Ohio and brother Charles of Cleveland, Ohio.
Jackie is survived by sister, Goldie Tomlinson of Alvarado, Texas and lots of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Carpenter Cemetery in Hickory Flats, West Virginia on July 23, 2021 at 10:00 am
