Obituary

Chad Heath Cappers, 51, of Cleburne, Texas, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2026, at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, September 7, 2026 at Faith Temple Church in Cleburne, TX

Chad was born in Killeen, Texas, on August 22, 1975, the son of Sharon(Harwell) and Donnie Ray Cappers. He worked in the oil and gas industry and spent many years working as a groundskeeper at Green Acres Cemetery.

Chad was one of a kind and had a personality that was impossible to forget. Some family members affectionately knew him as "ShaDazy," a nickname that suited his unique spirit and unforgettable personality. He loved Elvis and classic country music and was quite the jokester. If Chad was around, there was almost always laughter. He had a way of making people smile and could turn just about any situation into a good time.

Chad was also a collector of many things. If something was sitting out on the curb and looked like it might be worth something, chances were Chad was going to pick it up. And if you thought something was too broken or too far gone to fix, Chad thought otherwise. He had a knack for seeing potential in things that others had given up on and was never afraid to give something a second chance.

One of Chad's greatest prides was his '64 Malibu Chevelle, which he loved for a very, very long time. Many memories were made behind the wheel, including plenty of races with Once Bitten Twice Shy by Great White blaring through the speakers.

Chad had a heart of gold. When he loved you, he loved you hard and wholeheartedly. He cared deeply for the people who meant the most to him and will be remembered for his big heart, his sense of humor, and the unforgettable memories he created with those around him.

In recent years, Chad could often be found riding the heck out of his motorized bike, usually with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. It was just one of those little things that made Chad, Chad-and a memory those who knew him will carry with them.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray and Flossie Cappers and Shirley and Bill Harwell.

Chad is survived by his son, Kylan Cappers of Keene; parents, Donnie and Sharon Cappers of Cleburne; brothers, Matt Cappers and fiancée, Brooke Van of Floresville, and Walt Cappers and wife, Trish, of Alvarado; several nieces and nephews; many friends who will miss him dearly; and other family members.
