Obituary for Alieta Virginia Chasteen
Alieta Virginia Chasteen of Cleburne, 83, passed away peacefully in her sleep November 12, 2011. Graveside service will be conducted at Cleburne Memorial Cemetery Tuesday, November 15th at 3:00pm. The Reverend Mark Ely will be officiating.
Ms. Chasteen was born in Cleburne, December 5, 1927, the daughter of James William Livingston and Ava Cutler Livingston. She married Charles D. Chasteen May 14, 1948, in Cleburne. She was a very active member of College Heights Baptist Church, where she was a charter member. Ms. Chasteen loved traveling, camping, and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed volunteering for Mission Hospice.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her parents, her sisters Zelma Owens and Fayrene Hutto, and brother Burl Livingston.
She is survived by her daughter, Charleta Bursey and husband, Greg, grandson Brian Bursey, wife Cassandra, and great-granddaughter Addison, all of Cleburne; granddaughter Belinda Dobson, husband Josh, and great-granddaughter Chelsea, of College Station. Ms. Chasteen was also very excited about the upcoming birth of her two great-grandchildren, both due in February.
Memorials may be made to College Heights Baptist Church, 1006 Euclid Street, in Cleburne.
