IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christie Chafin
Bubak
November 24, 1948 – November 7, 2025
Christie Chafin Bubak, 76, of Granbury, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025. Christie was devoted to her family and friends and will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, and above all, her deep and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.
Born in Cleburne, Texas, to Carl and Janie Chafin, Christie grew up in a loving Christian home surrounded by family. Her grandmother, Gurtha Chafin, played a profound role in nurturing her faith and teaching her the importance of prayer, gratitude, and compassion. Christie often said it was Gurtha, along with her parents, who set her on the path to knowing and loving the Lord. Her childhood was filled with laughter, family gatherings, and the warmth of small-town life, which gave her a heart that cherished people deeply.
Christie married Mike Bubak on October 21, 1972. Together they created a wonderful life built on love, faith, and family, and raised two daughters, Lauren and Ashley. Their home was always full of warmth, laughter, and love - a true reflection of the love Christie shared so freely.
Christie's love for beauty and creativity was one of the many gifts God gave her. She was a designer with a remarkable eye, helping countless people make their houses feel like home. She could take any space and breathe warmth and beauty into it, as if her kindness lived in the walls.
Together with her dear friend Parris Kramer, Christie founded K&B Interior Designs, where she brought color and comfort into every space she touched. She found joy in creating peaceful, welcoming environments-both indoors and in her beloved gardens. Christie was also a wonderful cook, carrying on treasured family recipes while adding her own special touches to old favorites.
Christie's faith was the foundation of her life. She found strength, comfort, and purpose in God's word, and even through her illness, her gentle spirit reflected His peace. Those who knew her will always remember her beautiful smile, her tender heart, and her steadfast belief that God's love never fails.
She is survived by her loving husband, Mike Bubak; her daughters, Lauren Thompson (Roger) and Ashley Adams (John); her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Thompson (Isaac), Avery Thompson, Brenden Thompson, Emma Adams, and Hudson Adams; and her great-grandchild, Margot Thompson.
She is also survived by her brother, Ralph Chafin (Wyvette); her sister, Caron Nicklas (Rusty); her nephew, Chad Chafin (Bianca); and her niece, Layna Melugin (David), along with great-nieces and nephews Kaytlynn Melugin, Chloe Melugin, Matthew Chafin, James Chafin, Aaron Chafin, and Christopher Chafin.
A visitation will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Rosser Funeral Home in Cleburne, Texas.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 13, 2025, in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Cleburne Memorial Cemetery.
