Graveside services for Danny Lee Bunch, 79, of Hillsboro, Texas will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 29, 2026, at the Pilot Grove Cemetery in Whitewright, Texas.

Danny "Dan"  Lee Bunch passed from this life on October 20, 2026 at the age of 79 at home in Hillsboro Texas. Born July 30,1947 in Salina Kansas to Walter and Rose Bunch. Dan attended Whitewright High School before enlisting in the United States Navy. Dan served 1 tour of duty in Vietnam in 1966/67.  

Danny and Gayle met in elementary school in Whitewright Texas and got married in 1965 right after graduation. Danny and Gayle have a daughter, Kathy, born right before he left for the war and a son, Darron, born when he got back.

He read anything he could get his hands and loved to do research on genealogy. He could always strike up a conversation and loved to tell people stories. Some of his stories were based on true facts and some weren't. You never knew which one you were getting.

Dan was preceded in death by his father,  Walter Bunch, step mother Faye Bunch and mother Rose Winegar. By his siblings Ray Bunch, Roseann Morris, and Debbie Gilbert.

He is survived by his wife Gayle, daughter Kathy and husband Cameron and son Darron. By his siblings Tammy (Donnie), Cindy (Paul), and Cheryl (Mark), and brother in laws, Joe Morris and Joe Gilbert.  Also, by his 5 grandkids, 2 great grandkids and many nieces and nephews.
