Darrell’s Celebration of Life will be conducted at a later date TBD. Darrell’s wishes to be cremated will be honored by his family and his ash remains will be reunited with his family farm in Cleburne, TX.
Darrell Lummus passed away Wednesday June 11, 2025. He was born in West, Texas on September 30, 1942, the only child (son) of Evelyn and Roy Lummus. Darrell lived in Cleburne, Texas from approximately 1995 until present on his family farm with his wife, Carol whom he was married to for 61 years. While they shared many homes over the years, they enjoyed the acreage and the care of their farm in Cleburne that was home to many horses, cats, dogs a and a pig. He was a loving father, son, and husband. Darrell was a Hospital Administrator, a Hospital CEO and later in life, a Commercial Real Estate Broker. He was a golfer at heart and played his entire life leaving the eighteen-hole game for the shorter nine-hole game in his eighties. He was smart and people relied on his common sense and gentle nature for solutions in running a business. He was trusted and valued as a businessman and friend to many during his career and enjoyed the people, the work, and the friendships. Never retiring, he transferred from the corporate jobs to the real estate business seamlessly where colleagues would continue to call upon his expertise.He is survived by his wife, Carol Lummus of Cleburne, Texas; oldest daughter, Maria Lummus of Euless, Texas and youngest daughter, April Jupiter and her husband Eric Jupiter of Fort Worth, Texas. Darrell also had many animal family members that survived him but especially Nuggie and Freckles, his beloved dogs and Walter, his cat.
