Dennis "Denny" Sexson

Memorial services for Dennis Hobart "Denny" Sexson, 87, of Cleburne, Texas will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Country Life Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Ingo Sorke officiating.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Denny Sexson, Ken Hanson, Harley Phillips, Ron Bryant, Bill Westman, and Jim Beasley.

Denny Sexson passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025, at his home in Cleburne. He was born March 22, 1938 in Salina, Kansas, the only child of Dennis and Hester (Rayl) Sexson.

Denny graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1956 and attended Hutchinson Junior College. At this time he also enlisted in the Naval Reserves where he honorably served from 1955-1963. Denny began working at Southwesten Bell Telephone collecting change from the phones, working his way up to account executive. He was with Southwestern Bell for 35 years, retiring in 1991.

On May 3, 1959, Denny married Janice Renee Ortner in Hutchinson, Kansas. Over the next 66 years they shared their lives with each other and their two children, Denny and Melissa, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was a member of the Country Life Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Denny loved motorcycles and enjoyed riding trips with friends. Janice joined in and they participated in many charitable runs including the yearly Toys For Tots Run. He also loved attending car shows with his son and spending time with family and friends.

Denny was preceded in death by his parents Dennis and Hester Sexson.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Janice Sexson, of Cleburne; son, Dennis Vern "Denny" Sexson and wife, Kim; daughter, Melissa Lanelle Hanson and husband, Ken, all of Cleburne; grandchildren, Matthew Hanson, Jonathan Hanson and wife, Zursey, Krista Hanson Flores and husband, David, Febbie Hanson, Mickynzie Sexson Ramsey and husband, Hudson, Brenna Sexson Sizemore and husband, Marcus, and Shaylee Sexson Barnes and husband, Dylan; and great grandchildren, Elliana and Amelia.
