Donald L. "Pawpaw" Stack

Funeral services for Donald L. Stack, 86, of Fort Worth, Texas will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2025, in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Derden Cemetery.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2025, at Rosser Funeral Home.

Donald L. Stack, lovingly known as “PawPaw,” passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Donald was born on October 22, 1938, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to parents Juanita Davis and Eugene Stack. A longtime resident of Fort Worth, Texas, Donald was a man of deep values and integrity. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard from 1961 to 1964, earning an honorable discharge and carrying with him a lifetime of pride for his service.

Donald had the heart of a giant—his family often said he had the biggest heart of gold. He was known for his caring nature, always putting others before himself. He never missed a single event for his grandchildren, cheering them on through every milestone, big or small. His love was constant and steady, a guiding light for all who knew him.

Donald is now reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, Barbara “MawMaw” Stack; his daughter, Sheri Skidmore; his parents, Juanita Davis and Eugene Stack; his stepmother, Jacquelyn Stack; his sister, Susan Crowe; and his brothers-in-law, Rick Berry and Gary Van Horn.

He leaves behind a family who adored him beyond measure—his daughter, Teri Hughes; his son, Johnny Hodge, and wife Valerie; and his grandchildren, Amber Lanphere and husband Tim, Erich Skidmore and wife Lindsay, Whitney Bolen and husband Trey, Chad Cornett, Scott Hughes, Hailey Maliska and husband Ryan, and Blair Nobile and husband Brad. Donald also leaves behind his cherished great-grandchildren, Paisley, Kenneth, Bella, Capri, Brooks, Ty, Rafe and Hope who brought him endless joy.

Donald’s love also extended to his many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Donnie Cornett; brother-in-law, John King Jr. and wife Shirl; his brother, Gene Stack; and his sisters, Janice Van Horn and Cheri Berry.

Donald’s life was a beautiful example of loyalty, compassion, and family devotion. His stories, laughter, and gentle spirit will live on in all who were lucky enough to know him. Though he may be gone from this world, his legacy of love will remain in the hearts of his family forever.
