Emma Lay, 96, of Cleburne, Texas passed away Thursday, June 25, 2026, at her home.

Mrs. Lay was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on March 2, 1930, the daughter of Hattie May (Sloan) and George D. Lewis.

Mrs. Lay was a homemaker who truly made a home for her husband and children. She was loving mother who fully participated in her children's activities.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon Nealy; sister, Ivah Edwards, and brothers, Fred Lewis, Edward Lewis, Ben Lewis, and Nathan "Nate" Lewis.

Mrs. Lay is survived by her sons Theron Lay and Gary Lay; daughters, Barbara Shaw and Lujean Flanary; and many other family members and friends.
