Military graveside services for Ernst “Ernie” Ludwig Kober, 89, of Alvarado, Texas will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, November 5, 2026, at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with Pastor Ron Patterson officiating.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Rosser Funeral Home in Cleburne, Texas.

Ernst was born in Thierberg, Germany on December 12, 1936, to Martha (Haerich) and Walter Kober. He married Marjorie E. Smith on December 12, 1962, in Hackensack, New Jersey. Ernst proudly served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Keene Seventh-day Adventist Church and was a retired machinist with Consolidated Bearings.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie; sister, Brigitta Wells, grandson, Davy Patterson, and son-in-law, Eddie Perez.

Ernst is survived by his; daughters, Barbara Patterson and husband, David, of Sand Flat and Diann Perez of Cleburne; son, Robert Kober and wife, April, of Salisbury, Maryland; brothers, Bert Kober of Michigan and Christopher Kober of New York; grandchildren, Sabrina Gomez Perez and husband, Nicholas Gomez, Eddie Tate Perez, Doris Patterson, Heidi Patterson, Andrew Patterson, LeeAnn Patterson, Nikolaus Kober and spouse, Emma, and Melena Kober; great grandchildren, Katie Perez and Eli Gomez Perez; and many other family members and friends.
