Obituary

Garland Ray "Red" Ivy passed away peacefully at the age of 70 on Saturday, November 1, 2025.

Ray was born in Whitney, Texas on April 12, 1955, to Leone and Kenneth Ray Ivy. He graduated from Whitney High School in 1974.

Ray worked at the lime plant for over 40 years before retiring in 2023. He loved the great outdoors, fishing, hunting, cooking, and a good cold beer.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Leone; and brother-in-law, Danny Holt.

Ray is survived by his wife, Deborah Ivy; sons, Clinton Ivy, James Ivy and wife, Anna, Scott Miller and wife, Christie, and Chris Miller and wife, Cindy; grandchildren, Camilela, Judson, Nolan, and Andrew; sister, Sissie Holt; niece, Skylar Stockton and husband, Brendon; many cousins and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Lofers Bend Day Use Pavillion - Casual dress with finger foods, stories, and a toast in Ray's honor.
