Memorial service for Jack Gibbons, 83, of Keene, Texas will be conducted at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Crossroads Fellowship Church in Joshua, Texas. Pastors Henry and Bunny Reid will officiate. Burial will be in DFW National Cemetery.
Jack passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in Cleburne, Texas. He was born Feb. 4, 1932 to Elsie (Davis) and Jacob Eugene Gibbons in La Grange, Kentucky. Jack served his country in the United States Army where he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He also was a nurse practitioner, family counselor and therapist. Jack spent five years in Brazil as a missionary.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Louise Christian.
Jack is survived by his wife, Nancy Gibbons of Keene, Texas; sons, Timothy Gibbons of Jacksonville, Florida, Bob Gibbons and wife, Jan, of Plano, Texas; daughter, Nancy Stewart and husband, Doug, of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Gene Stewart and wife, Katrina, Jim Stewart and wife, Cheyenne, Jeremiah Gibbons, Heather Gibbons, Zac Gibbons, Carson Gibbons, and Meredith Gibbons; great-grandchildren, Logan and Conner Stewart; sisters, JoAnn Jones of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Elsie Worthen of Fletcher, North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.
