Services for Ida Ruth (James) Hallman, of Cleburne, Texas will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2016 at First United Methodist Church of Cleburne.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 - 5:30 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Rosser Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hallman passed away Friday, April 1, 2016 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Ida Ruth was born in Cleburne on March 9, 1920 to John A. and Ruth (Clayton) James.
She spent all but a few years of her life in Cleburne. Ida Ruth graduated from Cleburne High School and then attended Temple Jr. College in Temple, Texas.
She married William P. Hallman on November 22, 1941 at First Baptist Church in Cleburne. They were married 70 years until his death in 2012.
Ida Ruth was a homemaker. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. Ida Ruth cooked three meals a day for her family for many, many years. She loved her family and creating a loving, secure and happy home was her goal. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church Cleburne.
Ida Ruth and her husband, “Billy” owned and operated Hallman Printing and Office Supply in Cleburne for many years. She was a founding member of the Heritage Assembly.
She loved to play bridge, read, and in later years, discovered a talent and love for painting. Ida Ruth will be remembered for her beauty, poise, grace and loving heart. She will be missed by all those who knew her.
Ida Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy; brother, John. A. James and his wife, Jane; sister, Betty Pernell; brother-in-law, Leroy Hallman and his wife, Betty.
She is survived by sons, Bill Hallman and wife, Nancy, Jim Hallman and wife, Kathy; daughter, Ruth Scogin and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Kathryn Hallman Hall and husband, Jay, James Hallman and wife, Micah, Lee Hallman, Jay Scogin and wife, Callie, Will Hallman, Mary Hallman Smith and husband, Dwayne, Cara Scogin Olson, and Laura Beth Hallman; great-grandchildren, James Luccas Hallman, Claire Scogin, Austin Smith , John Clayton Olson and Emily Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express special appreciation to the staff of the James. L. West Care Center and Community Hospice for their loving care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Community Hospice of Fort Worth, James L. West Care Center, Fort Worth or First United Methodist Church of Cleburne.
