Henry Blake "Rusty" Rowan, Jr.

Henry Blake “Rusty“ Rowan, 73, was born July 29, 1950 in Abilene,TX and passed away on Sunday, November 12, peacefully at his home in Burleson Texas after having fought a long battle with lung cancer since 2014.

He was a very loved husband, father, grandfather, son-in-law, brother-in-law, father- in- law, nephew, cousin, and friend to all who knew him.  He was a gentle gentleman who loved his family more than anything else. His wife was his love, his daughters were his pride and joy and his grandchildren were the twinkle in his eye.

His passion was fishing and camping and with grandchildren made it twice the fun. He didn’t care if they caught anything or not, he just liked to go and try!

Rusty loved His Lord.  He was not a loud, outspoken man, but he let his light shine for Jesus by his love, friendship, caring, and a do anything for you personality.  His steadfast commitment and love for his family was inspiring. His actions spoke louder than his words!

Rusty was born and raised in Abilene, TX. He graduated from Cooper High School in 1968, attended Cisco Jr. College, then joined the Navy. He completed his B.S. degree at McMurry University in 1976.

He is survived by his wife, Doneva “Doni” of Burleson, his daughter, Kristi Rowan of Joshua, Kari Couret (Cheyenne) of Burleson, a sister, Jan Wiggins (Ronnie) of Abilene and 4 precious grandchildren, Cade and Harper Rowan and Avery and Brody Couret, his extended family, Mother-in-law, Carol Howard (Abilene), Jerry and Debbie Howard (Keene) and Cecil and Jodie Meadows (Abilene). Nine nieces and nephews ( and spouses) two great nephews (and spouses), his Aunt, numerous cousins and an endless amount of extended family and friends.

He loved his God, his country and his family and friends without measure!  

                                                  Even so Lord Jesus come….
