Hesburn passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026, in Fort Worth, TX. He was born in Majuro, Marshall Islands. Hesburn was one of six siblings born to Kilo Jeto and Bebbeth Maddison, with only two siblings surviving him.
Hesburn married Tarelong on November 29, 1967. They complemented each other and made a great team. Hesburn was known for his strong work ethic and humble personality. He enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball, and was twice an Olympian representing the Marshall Islands in his youth. His family fondly remembers his well-known habits: being meticulous, collecting coins, changing large bills into smaller ones so his wallet would feel bulkier, always being on time, his “X legs” (iykyk), and always carrying a toothpick.
He was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses and served as an Elder for many years. He loved his family and enjoyed making countless memories with them.
Hesburn was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jokmen Kilo; his son-in-law, Jimmy Hesa; his grandchild, Shadrach “Boboy” Hesa; and great-grandchild Saricia “Likojdrik” Lekka; and his siblings, Risa Kilo, Jotak Kilo, and Joel Clinton.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Tarelong Kilo; daughters, Lucia Kilo, Regina Langidrik, Nellina Weika Hesa, and Jauwe Domnick Kabua; sons, Heran Bellu, Mike Kilo, and Willy Kilo; siblings, Lina Clinton and Carlon Clinton; as well as many precious grandchildren, great-grandchildren, in-laws, and brothers and sisters in spirit.
