Hugh Andrew Dalrymple, Jr.

Hugh Andrew Dalrymple, 82, passed away peacefully on July 10th at his home in Cleburne, Texas.  There are no services scheduled at this time.

Hugh was born in Buick, Colorado on July 16th, 1942 to parents Hugh Dalrymple Sr. and Harriet Ayers Dalrymple. He spent his childhood years in Englewood, Colorado and was a 1960 graduate of Las Cruses High School in Las Cruses, New Mexico.

After working a few years as a Coca-Cola Distributor, he joined the Army in 1964. There, he was a Topographic Surveyor and Mapping Engineer, and was privileged to be assigned to the "Ethiopia - U.S. Mapping Mission" in Ethiopia. He spent nearly two years plying his skills in official capacity for the U.S. government, a service for which he was extremely proud.

Upon completion of his military service, Hugh worked as a surveyor in the private sector. In 1973 he was granted registration as a land surveyor in the state of Colorado, and went into business for himself. He became licensed to survey in Colorado, Wyoming, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Business thrived, and Hugh ultimately retired as CEO from his business, Delta Land Services, Inc. in 2007.

He sold his company several years later, and gladly welcomed the status of being fully retired. He spent his final years enjoying the company of his family and playing golf with friends.

Hugh is survived by his three children, Sylvia Pell and husband Mike, Edward Dalrymple and wife Terri, Lisa Hill and husband Joe, sevengrandchildren, James Biersdorfer and wife Tania, Andrew Dalrymple, Erik van Assendelft, Kelly van Assendelft and wife Kelsey, Sara Hill, Turner Hill, Grace Hill,  and great grandson, Leo Biersdorfer.

Hugh loved life and will be sorely missed.
