Graveside services for J. D. Blankenship, Sr., 91, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, February 20, 2023 at Greenacres Memorial Park Cemetery.

There is no visitation scheduled.

J. D. Blankenship, Sr., passed away Monday, February 13, 2023 in Fort Worth.  He was born in Fort Worth on March 20, 1931, the son of Myrtle and William Ernest Blankenship. Mr. Blankenship served in the United States Coast Guard.

Working as a commercial truck driver he met his future wife Dorothy while she was working at Chaf-Inn Restaurant. He also was a reserve Fort Worth Police Officer for 30 plus years, reaching the rank of Lt. before retiring.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Dorothy Blankenship.

Mr. Blankenship is survived by his sons, J.D. Blankenship, Jr. and Joe David Blankenship; daughter, Janice Kring; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and other family and friends.
