Graveside services for James Preston Hammons, Jr., 67, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2023 at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034.

Serving as pallbearers will be Billy Shannon, James Hammons III, Terry Lenard, Dustin Lenard, Andrew Schimminger, and Tyler Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley, Tyler, Cody,  David Pendelton, Warren Bennie, and Randy Pendelton.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Rosser Funeral Home.

James passed away Monday, August 14, 2023 in Weatherford, Texas. He was born in Grapevine, Texas on December 3, 1955, the son of Edna Faye (Hughes) and James Preston Hammons, Sr.

James was retired from Pendelton Auto.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

James is survived by his sons, Billy Shannon and girlfriend, Brianna Hansard, of Weatherford and James Hammons III and wife, Neudora, of Coalgate, Oklahoma; daughters, Amy Lenard and husband, Terry, of Azle, Texas and Jennifer Aston and husband, Lee, of Ringling, Oklahoma; grandsons, Cody, Dustin, Andrew, Tyler, Wesley, Jonathon, Jacob, and Josh; granddaughters, Haley, Ashlyn, Jasmine, Whitney, Jordan, and Jacquelyn; seven great grandchildren; dear family members, Helen and Warren Bennie, Shirley and David Pendleton, Jackie Hammons, and Nicole Shannon; many other extended family members and friends.
