Military graveside services for James Douglas Hicks, 78, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 2 p.m.  Monday, August 14, 2023 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.  

James Hicks passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at his home. He was born in Durant, Oklahoma on August 18, 1944, the son of Martha Maurine (Hendricks) and Jenkins Douglas Hicks.

James married Judy Lucille Mosley on April 22, 1967 in Odessa, Texas. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and also served as a police officer in Odessa and in Arkansas. James was a member of the First United Pentecostal Family Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

James is survived by his wife, Judy Hicks of Cleburne; daughter, Dris Littepage and husband, Scott, of Tuttle, Oklahoma; brother, Mike Hicks and wife, Harriet, of Odessa; grandchildren, Tori Smart and husband, Gary, Hailey Supertzi and husband, Anthony, and Morgan Jungk; great grandchildren, Barrett Smart, Holden Smart, Kaegen  Smart, and Kolby Supertzi; and several other family members and friends.
