Janis Anne Grimes was born August 31, 1955 and passed from this life on December 1, 2022 at the age of 67. She was the daughter of Monieree (Harner) and Cecil Grimes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Joycelyn Marrs and Judy Houston, and her beloved husband David Ross Franks.
She is survived by son Jonathan Franks and wife Stacey of Grandview; grandchildren, Devin Franks of Riverside, CA and Haylee Moore and husband, Cannon, of Grandview; brother, Stevan Robert Grimes of Harriman,TN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Janis attended OD Wyatt High School in Fort Worth. On January 19, 1973 she married the love of her life. Janis and David spent the rest of their lives together fulfilling his promise to her daddy to ensure her happiness. Together they raised their son Jonathan and enjoyed following his sports exploits all the way into college.
Their family grew when Jonathan married Stacey Lee of Grandview. Stacey has been a godsend in loving and caring for Janis, especially as Janis' health declined in recent years.
Janis never tired of bragging about her grandchildren Devin and Haylee, and she loved Haylee's husband Cannon as one of her own.
The only passion that came close to Janis' love for family was her love for her animals. Her horses were her first love - most notably Son, Silkie, and Mike. They were trained by her and were spectacular mounts as well as her best friends. Her connection with them was something special to behold. Through her horses, Janis gained a large extended family in her playday friends. To this day they are always there to support the Franks family. Janis' other favorite animals were her cherished Corgis.
