Graveside services for Janis Elaine Shelton, 75, of Big Bend National Park, Texas will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 In Keene Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Russ Laughlin officiating.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8:00 p.m., Monday, March 2, 2026 at Rosser Funeral Home.

Janis passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at her home in Big Bend National Park, Texas. She was born December 27, 1950 in Dallas to Elmer and Mary Pauline (Edwards) Embry. She married Lonnie Shelton on April 18, 1996 in the Fort Worth Stockyards.

Janis loved art, painting, helping her husband on the ranch and exploring Texas. She was of the Seventh-day Adventist faith. Janis was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Lonnie Shelton of Big Bend National Park; sons, Patrick Lawrence and Mike Lawrence and wife, Janelle, all of Cleburne; grandchildren, Madalyn Lawrence and fiancée Nathan Hencke and Bradyn Lawrence; brother, Richard Embry and wife Sheri; and sister, Barbara Howard, all of Cleburne; several other relatives and many friends.
