Jerry Wayne Calahan, 77, of Cleburne, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025. Born on May 6, 1948, in Cleburne, Texas, to the late Lewis Wendell and Mary Oleta Calahan. Papa was known for his unwavering kindness, quick wit, and dedication to family and service.

Jerry, a persistent boyfriend back in the day, married the love of his life and partner in crime, Judy on June 3, 1967 in Godley, Texas. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and devotion centered around their five sons, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. He was an avid hunter, as well as a horserace, football, and NASCAR fan. Mostly, he loved being outdoors, spending time in his garden, but more importantly, spending time with his family. He worked for over 30 years as a fireman for the City of Cleburne and owned his own Drywall business.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, L.W. and Mary Oleta, his brothers, Robert and James, and daughter-in-law, Mistie. He is survived by his wife, Judy Kay Holtsman Calahan, son Justin Wayne Calahan of Cleburne, Texas, Jeremy Layne Calahan of Cleburne, Texas, Jason Shane Calahan of College Station, Texas, Jamie Ray Calahan of Cleburne, Texas, and Joshua Lewis Wendell Calahan and his wife Julie of Burleson, Texas. He was also survived by his grandson Justin Cash Calahan and fiancé Lauren Duncan, grandson Cale Calahan, granddaughter Lyndsi Swiat, grandson Case Wayne Calahan, grandson Jack Joshua Calahan, and great-grandson Zaydn Alexander Swiat. In addition, he left behind numerous nieces, nephews, brother-in-law, and sisters-in-law.

Visitation will be at Rosser Funeral Home, November 2, 2025 at 6pm. A celebration of his life will be November 3, 2025 at 2pm at First Baptist Church in Cleburne, Texas. Graveside service will immediately follow at Baker Lain Cemetery in Cleburne, Texas. Pallbearers are Bill Allen, Byron Brown, Stephen Murray, Brian Owens, K.T. Tice, and Wes White. Honorary Pallbearers are Giles Adams, Ronnie Bryant, Kevin Gee, Travis Honea, Tommy Mann, and Roger Polson.

Jerry will be remembered for his quiet spirit, love for his children and grandchildren, and unwavering devotion to his wife.
