Joe Valton Hicks, 84, of Burleson passed away on July 2, 2026, in Harris Hospital in Ft Worth Texas.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 11:30 a.m. Saturday July 25th at Jellystone Park in Burleson with Tony Jones officiating.

Joe was born on January 18, 1942, in Winters Texas to James Valton and Pauline Hicks.

He married Glenda Richey in 1996. Joe worked in road construction, spent time with General Motors and served over 30 years with the State of Texas as a State Trooper and Welfare investigator. Joe spent the last 26 years working in Jellystone Park.

He is survived by his daughter, Anise Hicks Jones and husband, Tony Jones of Gainesville; bonus daughters Denise Kiker of Burleson and Patty Elrod of Burleson; nephew, Mark Kloster of Bedford; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents James and Pauline Hicks; wife, Glenda Hicks; sister, Gay Kloster; nephew, Jeff Kloster; and grandson, Colton Kiker.
