John Wayne Whitehorn passed away March 22, 2023 in Cleburne. He was born June 26, 1948 in Fort Worth, Texas to Starkey V. Whitehorn and Frances D. Etzweiler. John was a general contractor, land developer, business owner, and active member of his community. He was abundantly generous, a loyal friend, and a hero to so many.

John is survived by his wife, Deana Whitehorn; son, John Robert Clark; daughter, Stacy Deann Clark; son, Johnathan Wayne Whitehorn and wife, Rebecca Whitehorn; daughter, Samantha Jo Aslee Beatty; daughter, Marlana Megan Whitehorn-Jemison and husband, Andrew Jemison; sixteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; siblings, Elizabeth Soester, Deborah Bain, Betty Sue Hopper, Glenn Martin, and David Whitehorn.

Funeral services for John will be conducted at 11 am, Monday, March 27, 2023 at The Heights Church in Cleburne. Pastor Billy Phillips will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery with John Wayne Holland, Johnathan Whitehorn, Larry Burns, Andrew Jemison, Harold Gilliam, Robert Clark, and Ronnie Gossett serving as pallbearers.
