A celebration of life for Billy Frank Johnson, 76, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2012 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Danny Rogers will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Rosser Funeral Home.
A private burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery for family members.
Billy Frank Johnson was born to Horace & Ada Lee Johnson on October 20, 1935. He completed his earthly journey on March 27th, 2012 at the age of 76 and now lives eternally with his Lord.
He graduated from Godley High School in 1954. He was a good student and an outstanding athlete, lettering all four years in baseball, basketball and football. He later attended TCU.
Mr. Johnson served honorably in the United States Army from 1954-57 in Wiesbaden, Germany.
On October 24, 1958 he married the love of his life, Jeanette Nichols. They have enjoyed 53 years of wedded bliss and Jan has been a true angel, particularly in the past several years. Their love and devotion to one another was evident and admired by all. They were blessed with three precious children, Billy, Karen and David.
Mr. Johnson was employed by the Central Intelligence Agency from 1960-1985 and lived and served overseas. From 1985-1992 he was employed by Smith International.
He served as President of the Moslah Shrine Golf unit, Worshipful Master of Cleburne Masonic Lodge from 2002-03. In 2010 he received the Masonic 50-year Service award and subsequently, received the Golden Trowel award in 2011.
Mr. Johnson served as deacon in two Baptist Churches since 1980. He also served as deacon since 2004 at Lebanon Baptist Church while faithfully performing various duties and ministries of the church.
After retiring in 1992, and continuing to the present, he fulfilled a life goal and moved to his farm in Cleburne and began raising Red Angus beef cattle.
He was pre-deceased by his parents and brother, Horace Johnson, Jr.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jan; son Billy Frank Johnson, Jr. and his wife Holly Wilson of Virginia; daughter, Karen Stutzman and Mike Stutzman of Burleson; and son David Johnson of Cleburne. He was the proud grandfather of three grandchildren: Jana Gough and her husband John, Justin Hale and his wife Brittney, and Jessica Hale and her husband Jade Powell. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren. Two sisters; Joyce Combs of Fort Worth and Bobbie Lanfear-Stinson and husband Clarence of Arlington, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
