Jorge's life was marked by generosity, resilience, and an unwavering devotion to serving others. For more than four decades, he worked tirelessly to uplift communities in both the United States and Mexico, leaving a legacy defined by compassion, dignity, and selfless service.
He was employed as a welder at Comanche Peak from 1979 to 1989, after which he owned and operated Pancho's Custom Work until his retirement.
In 2003, Jorge helped establish a Sister Cities partnership between Cleburne, Texas, and San Miguel de Allende and Comonfort, Guanajuato, a program that has benefited all communities culturally and economically for more than two decades.
In 2007, he co-founded Team Fenix, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting first responders throughout Mexico. Over the past 20 years, he helped coordinate the transfer of millions of dollars in donated emergency equipment from the United States to Mexico. In addition to providing equipment, he organized and facilitated the travel of expert instructors from the United States to Mexico to train first responders. Many of those trainees later became instructors themselves, continuing to train others in communities across Mexico. As a result, generations of first responders have been equipped with lifesaving skills, extending his legacy for years to come.
Those who knew Jorge will remember a man who never met a stranger, who gave before he was asked, and who loved his family, his faith, and his community without reservation.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Jorge cherished time spent with his family and was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Augustin and Amalia (Olalde) Navarrete, and his brothers, Jose, Mauricio and Emilio Navarrete.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Graciela Navarrete; his son, Tolin Navarrete; his daughters, Nora Navarrete Fussner and her husband, James Fussner, and Nadia Navarrete Fuller and her husband, Alton Fuller; his grandchildren, Vanessa Navarrete McCullough and her husband, Darion McCullough, Victoria Navarrete, Antonio Navarrete, Boston Fussner, Brooklyn Fussner, Gracie Fuller, Aidan Fuller, and Evee Jo Fuller; his great-grandchildren, Braxton McCullough and Bryant McCullough; his siblings Carlos, Maria de Carmen and Amalia Navarrete, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
