Graveside services for Nell Marbut Kelly, 89, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00P.M. Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at the Covington Cemetery. The Reverend Keith Whitt will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7P.M. on Monday, April 19, 2021, at the Rosser Funeral Home.
Nell passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021, in Glen Rose. She was born to Robert and Plura (Miller) Marbut of Covington Texas, on June 4, 1931. She was their middle child, born after her three older brothers (Dee, Virgil, and Louis) and before her only sister (Jim) and baby brother (Tom).
Nell married Arthur (Jack) Kelly on January 6, 1950. Together they had three daughters, Jackie, Becky, and Amy. Nell was a homemaker while her children were young, but began working at the Ben Franklin store in Cleburne before starting her career at Cleburne ISD as part of the cafeteria staff. She worked at both Cooke and Adams elementary schools before retiring in 1996.
Nell was member of the North Cleburne Baptist Church and the Johnson-Somervell Counties Retired School Employees Association. She enjoyed worshiping at her church, as well as sewing and baking for her family. Nell was a kind, loving, and gentle soul with a quiet, polite demeanor. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Nell is survived by her three children Jackie Taylor and husband Pat, Becky Kelly, and Amy Kelly as well as one granddaughter, Preshella Rojas, and one great granddaughter, Alanis Rojas. She is also survived by her sister, Jim Berg, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, her parents, and all four of her brothers.
