Lena Hughes

Lena Faye Hughes, 78 of Odessa, Texas joined our Heavenly Father January 6, 2023 peacefully in her sleep. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2023 at the Salvation Army, 810 E 11th St., Odessa, TX 79761.

Lena was born October 29, 1944 to Nora and Edward "Boots" Perkins in Memphis, Texas.

In 1986 she married the love of her life Larry Hughes and had six children. Over the next 29 years, they built a full life that included motorcycling, craft shows, traveling, cooking for and spending time with family, and being a part of Salvation Army Church.

Lena loved to spend time with all the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She owned her own business in which many remember the beautiful porcelain dolls she made for many years. Lena was a very loving wife, sister, mom, grandmother and friend but she sure wasn't afraid to tell you something if she thought you needed to hear it.

She was preceded in death by both her parents Nora Brandon and Edward "Boots" Perkins; brothers, Howard, CL, George, and Bill; sister, Dovie "Honeybunch"; and daughter, Kena.

Lena is survived by her sisters, Beth Hancock and Oleta Hill; daughters, Adelia "Dede" Hall, Olivia Hughes, and Jasmine Hughes; son, Edward Konig; 14 grandchildren, and 34 great grandchildren.
