Funeral services for Linda Mae Clements Jewell, 79, of Rio Vista, Texas will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2026, at Faith Temple in Cleburne, Texas. Burial will follow in the Rio Vista Cemetery with Woody Slagley, Casey Slagley, Tyler Huskey, Jeremy Jewell, William Hall, and Mark Hall serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Chance, Tony Clements, Rickey Jewell, Jessie Roberts, and Buddy Roberts.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Rosser Funeral Home.
Linda passed away Sunday, June 28, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born in Grandview, Texas on March 21, 1947, to J. L. and Edith Mae Clements.
Linda married George R. "Buddy" Jewell on May 27, 1966, in Waxahachie, Texas. She was a custodian for the Grandview School District for 30 years before her retirement. Linda was a devoted Christian lady that loved her church and was so very sweet that she considered her church family and friends extended family. Linda always had a sweet smile and kind words for everyone.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, George R. "Buddy" Jewell; brothers, Jimmy Clements and Bill Clements; and sister, Dorothy Smith.
Linda is survived by her daughters, Linda Darlene Huskey and husband, Darrell, of Alicia, Arkansas and Crystal Gail Gilliland of Rio Vista; step daughter, Carolyn June Followill of Cleburne; grandchildren, Woody Slagley, Tiffany Owens, Casey Slagley, Mykayle Jewell, Mae Jewell, Jeremy Chance, and Tyler Huskey; eight great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; brother, Johnnie Clements; sister, Beatrice Hand; several brothers and sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and other family members and friends.
