Linda Sue (Harvey) Singleton joined her loved ones in heaven on August 24, 2026, at her home in Cleburne, Texas. Heaven got a little brighter that day—Linda never entered a room without bringing a little fire and a smile with her.

Linda was born September 3, 1963, in Fort Worth, Texas, to James and Janet Harvey. She was the baby of four children; her sister said she was “Daddy’s daughter.” She attended Marlow and Burleson schools, graduated from Burleson High School in 1982, never losing that spark that drew people to her.

After high school Linda enjoyed working in positions that involved interacting with people, making lifelong friends at each job. She was an associate at Ace Hardware, loved being a server at Spaghetti Warehouse (and was sad when it closed), and retired from Sun Cal Manufacturing in Joshua. She left a forever mark on those she met along the way.

Linda met the love of her life, Matt, in June 1996. They married five years later, on August 22, 2001, in Itasca, Texas. Linda wanted a small ceremony; only the bride’s and groom’s mothers attended. From that day forward it was never just “Linda” or just “Matt”—it was “Linda and Matt.” You seldom saw one without the other.

Traveling was a central part of their lives together. The vacation in Hawaii was one of Linda’s favorite places, and they loved going to Oklahoma to visit family and friends. She and Matt enjoyed classic and vintage car shows, car races, and planning weekend trips to attend them.

Linda loved big. She had a huge heart for people, attending countless fundraisers and benefits for family and friends, and was a dedicated caregiver to her mother for many years. She loved playing dominoes and often drove to Waco to challenge her mother-in-law to a game—and if rumors were true, a heated discussion followed when she won. A small claim to fame, Linda was on an episode of “Love Boat” in 1980.

Linda had a special gift for finding fun T-shirts that held meaning for the people she loved, and she lit up giving them. She made everyone feel special. Fishing, being outside working in the yard, a cue stick in her fingers, having her feet in the sand, and listening to blues and country music brought Linda peace.

But nothing beat sitting around a fire with family and friends. Linda was the one still awake when the last log needed turning, feeding the flames so nobody had to go inside yet. She was the light and the warmth and the reason people stayed for hours.

People were drawn to her. She was a trusted friend who loved passionately. She carried a deep, quiet kindness that made her easy to talk to. Those who knew her said it best: an outgoing, lively soul who loved her family and friends with her whole heart; a true free spirit with a quick and contagious laugh; honest and good in her innermost being; the life of the party, laugh like a magnet, personality like no other, and a good friend to the end.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Janet Harvey and brother in law Bennett Sessums.

She is survived by her husband, Matt; her sisters Betty Sessums and Carol Sessums (Ricky); her brother Mark Harvey; her sisters-in-law Eileen Bohannon (Steve), Sharon Kotter, and Kathy Faramand; and her nieces Ashley Mann (Jonathan), Chrystal Rose (Steven), Jennifer Bennyhoff (William), Amber Sessums, and Jacob Sessums (Sarah).

It was never just Linda or just Matt. It was Linda and Matt.
