Loyd Ray Whitehead, 78, of Plano, Texas passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026, in Richardson, Texas. A graveside service will be held at a later date.

Loyd Whitehead was born in Brazos Point on December 5, 1947, to Lois Frances (Mears) and Oney Kerment Whitehead.

Loyd loved country music and anything outdoors whether it was fishing or gardening.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Elvis Whitehead; and sister, Jeanet Hendrix.

Loyd is survived by his wife, of 10 years, Miriam Whitehead; sons, Duaine Ratliff and Justin Whitehead; daughters, Rachel Scott and Sarah Calviello; brother, Danny Whitehead; and several grandchildren.
