A memorial service for Thomas Stanley “Tom” Markel, 65, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020 at 3 p.m. at Rosser Funeral Home Chapel.
Tom went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 22, 1955 in Bay City, Michigan to Bonnie and Thomas Kenneth Markel. Tom was retired from BASF where he was a chemical batch maker and he was of the Methodist faith.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his significant other, Sandy Stevenson of Cleburne; sons, Thomas Roy Markel and wife, Kristy, of Leander and Atticus Markel of Denver, Colorado; daughters, Faith Markel and husband, James Conoryea, of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Sarah Markel of Dallas; brother, Jeff Markel and wife, Erin, of Kalamazoo, Michigan; sisters, Cathy Kavanaugh of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Kris Gerish and husband, Jim, of Vermillion, Ohio; best friend, William “Buzz” Robinson and wife, Tracy, of Cleburne; niece, Kate Markel, nephew, Jeff Gerish, niece, Jenny Gerish, nephew, Matt Gerish, niece, Molly Haines, and niece, Megan Markel; and other family members and friends.
Tom will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
