Funeral services for Marsha Sue Hale Newton, 72, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 29, 2025 in the Nolan River Road Baptist Church with Pastor Mikey Pesqueda officiating. Committal services will follow at 3:00 P.M. in Perrin Memorial Gardens in Perrin, Texas in Jack County with Kyle Ellis, Neal Flippin, Nick Menchaca, Michael Martin, Frank Martin, Scott Avery and Phillip Avery serving as pallbearers.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-7:00 P.M., on Sunday, September 28 at Rosser Funeral Home in Cleburne.
Marsha Sue Hale Newton, born September 30, 1952, in Clovis, New Mexico, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her loved ones. A devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, she lived her life anchored in faith and love.
She was united in marriage to the love of her life, David Lee Newton, on October 6, 1972, in Hurst, Texas. Together they shared 53 years of marriage, raising their family and walking faithfully with Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Hale and Melva Terry, her daughter Karen Newton Neely, and her sister Carolyn Martin.
Marsha is survived by her loving husband, David Lee Newton, and her daughters, Lisa Sue Newton Ellis and husband Kyle Ellis of Godley, Texas, and Leslee Dee Newton Flippin and husband Neal Flippin of Cleburne, Texas. She is also survived by her sisters, Marva Pieratt of Wichita Falls, Terri Johnson and husband Danny of Little Elm, and Ann Skidmore of Bryson.
The greatest joy of her life was her family. She was lovingly known as Memaw to her grandchildren, Abby Sue Ellis, Benjamin Kyle Ellis, Allee Schult, Lola Flippin, Megan Cunningham, and Brandon Neely her great-grandchildren, Reed and Riggins. She also deeply cherished her many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Marsha loved reading books, crafting, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her life was a testimony of love, kindness, and faith, leaving a legacy that will live on through all who were blessed to know her.
