Obituary

Martin “Viejo” Ortiz Jr., 32, of Cleburne, Texas, passed away on March 30, 2026. Martin was born on September 17, 1993, to Martin Ortiz Hernandez and Barbarita Hinojosa.

Naturally sociable, he had a gift for making people feel welcome in every room, and the ease with which he connected to others, whether they had known him for years or had just met him. His lighthearted spirit and quick sense of humor lifted those around him, often turning ordinary moments into cherished memories.

Above all, he stayed true to himself. Martin lived with authenticity and honesty, never pretending to be anything other than who he was. That genuine nature left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His presence will be deeply missed, but the joy and laughter he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of family and friends.

He is survived by his two children, Mia and Martin Jr.; parents, Martin Ortiz Hernandez, Leonor Ortiz, and Barbarita Hinojosa; siblings, Linda, Gisell, Adri, Amanda, Juan, Mariestel, and Maria Elena; cousins Lorena, Ofelia, Clara, and Gustavo; and numerous family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Rosser Funeral, 1664 W Henderson St, Cleburne, TX 76033. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 807 N Anglin St, Cleburne, TX 76031. Burial will follow after the funeral service at Rosehill Cemetery, 906 E 2nd St, Cleburne, TX 76031. Lastly, there will be a celebration of life in Martin’s honor after the burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Martin “Viejo” Ortiz Jr., 32, de Cleburne, Texas, falleció el 30 de marzo de 2026. Martin nació el 17 de septiembre de 1993 a sus padres Martin Ortiz Hernandez y Barbarita Hinojosa.
