Melba Consignado Bunag

Melba Consignado Bunag, 85, went to sleep in Jesus on February 09, 2023. She was born to Ciriaco and Rafaela Consignado in Laguna, Philippines on January 05, 1938.

Melba graduated high school from Philippine Union College Academy in 1955. She received a BSN degree from Philippine Union College in 1960.

In 1961, she immigrated to the United States and worked at Hinsdale Sanitarium and Hospital. 

Melba continued to work at various hospitals as a Registered Nurse until she retired in 2005. She was passionate about giving care to family, friends and patients, affecting the most positive change in people.

She married Ben R. Bunag in 1967 and they lived together in Chicago, Illinois and Keene, Texas. Together they raised 2 children; Benjamin Jeffrey (spouse Gina) and Melva Lynn (spouse Aaron). She is survived by her loving husband, children, grandchildren Jeffrey, Melea, Joel, and Marcus, and siblings Rolando Consignado (spouse Grace) and Lita Consignado Dimalibot (spouse Cassiano).
