Funeral services for Morris D. Derting, 89, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2026 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Keith Whitt officiating. Burial will follow in Cleburne Memorial Cemetery with Dawson Derting, Trent Doty, Joe Turrubiartes, Jonathan Argandona, Garrett Slagle, and Tad Gilley serving as pallbearers.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2026 at Rosser Funeral Home.

Morris D. Derting passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026 in Fort Worth. He was born on October 26, 1936 in Cleburne to Sam Tyler and Lodine (Randolph) Derting. He married Janice Jowell on April 15, 1966 in Cleburne.

Morris served in the Army reserves. He was a retired carman with the Union Pacific Railroad and a member of North Cleburne Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Sam Derting.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, Janice Derting; sons, Michael Derting and wife Robin of Fort Worth and Scott Derting and wife Jama of Grandview; daughters, Terri Rose and husband Moe of Azle and Marci Fenimore and husband Dan of Cleburne; grandchildren, Taylor, Zach, Sheridan, McKayla, Delainee, Dawson and Maddie; great grandchildren, Jude and Quinn; several other family members and friends.
