Graveside services for Neta Belle Hall Barnes, of Grandview, Texas will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 23, 2026 at Brazos Point Cemetery in Bosque County with Pastor Phil Vaughn officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be her great grandchildren.
Neta Belle Barnes, 98, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, at her home in Grandview.
Neta was born May 27, 1927, in Clyde, Texas, to Thomas Marvin Hall and Opal Belle Williams Hall. She married George Bryant Barnes on August 24, 1945, in Kopperl, and together they had a son, Kenneth Leon Barnes.
Neta worked for General Dynamics with 32 years of dedicated service in which she assembled wiring harnesses and other components for a variety of aircraft. She was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. During her time in Department 73 on the F-111 program, she served as a Product Discipline Monitor and was presented a Certificate of Appreciation by the factory manager's office for extraordinary service.
Neta was a Past Worthy Matron of the White Settlement Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she treasured friendships and activities of the chapter. She was currently a member of the Castleberry Chapter.
In her later years, Neta was a member of First Baptist Church Grandview, where she enjoyed one of her favorite pastimes as part of the church quilting group, Sew n Sew.
Neta was preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Opal Hall; husband George Barnes; brother in law William "Bill" Barnes; sister and brother in law Linda Faye and Frank Roberts; sister in law Kay Hall; and nephews Michael Roberts and William "Billy" Barnes.
She is survived by her son Kenneth Barnes and wife Barbara of Grandview; sister Margaret Barnes and brother Paul Hall of Brazos Point; granddaughter Shana Lynn Deans and husband Vincent of Grandview; and grandson Kenneth Otis Barnes and wife Amber of Allen.
She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Rebecca, Cooper and Ryan Deans of Grandview; and Nathan, Grayson and Megan Barnes of Allen.
The family would like to thank the staff of Maxserve and One Point Hospice for their care and support.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to a church of your choice.
