Peggy James

Peggy Joyce James of Cleburne, Texas was born August 2, 1940, and surrounded by her family that love her so much, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 25, 2023.

Funeral services for Peggy will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2023 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2023 at Rosser Funeral Home.

Nothing brought Peggy more joy and happiness than being with her family. Peggy loved traveling and always had her bags packed and ready when her family asked her to go. She made many memories that her family will always cherish traveling together over the years.

She was an avid bowler and enjoyed her time spent with friends in bowling leagues for many years.

Peggy worked in the grocery business at Piggly Wiggly and David's Supermarket for more than 20 years, until she retired in 2001.

Peggy's greatest joy was being "Nanny" to all her grandchildren. She never missed any sporting event or celebration and was their biggest fan.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, E.J. "Jesse" James; her brothers, Archie Doty and Gerald Doty; and her sisters, Francis Clack and Margie Leck.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim Briscoe and husband, Jacky, of Weatherford, Texas; son, Steve Helms and wife, Stephanie, of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter Jennifer Cottongame and husband, Jim, of Cleburne; grandchildren, Kyle Briscoe and wife, Kimberly, of Southlake, Texas, Kali Jones and husband, Colt, of Weatherford, Seaver Helms and wife, Kelsey, of Keller, Texas, Brody Cottongame, and Bailey Cottongame of Cleburne; great grandchildren, Wyatt and Emerson Jones; Hazel, Benny Claire, and Sawyer Briscoe; and Luke and Shepard Helms.
