Services for lifelong Cleburne resident, R. Phil Reed are pending. 

Phil Reed passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026 in Cleburne. He was 74. He was born in Cleburne on December 17, 1951, the son of Edna Harriet (Pyeatt) and Roy Basil Reed. Phil is a graduate of Cleburne High School and received his associate degree from Hill College. He never met a stranger, loved to talk, and discovered that he could use his ability to connect with others while working in retail sales. He started as a sales associate in college, eventually working his way up through management at Dillard's, Montgomery Ward, Bealls, and Sears before retiring from Walmart in 2011. He loved his family, especially his kids, grandkids, and great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy B and Edna Pyeatt Reed; and wife, Patti Reynolds Reed.

Phil is survived by his son, Jason Reed and husband, Michael Brocker, of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughter, Jamie Roberts and husband, Lance, of Brazos Point; grandsons, Tyler Moore and Broc Moore of Cleburne; granddaughter, Sydney Roberts of Brazos Point and great-granddaughter, Brynlee also of Brazos Point; godson, Paul Hampton; lifelong best friends, Sherry Robinson and Johnny Wood; and many cousins, friends, and extended family. He is also survived by his babies, his dog, Louie and his cat, Teller.

Phil loved the Lord and lived by his favorite verse, Philippians 4:13.
