Rabin Dean
Stephens
Apr 28, 1939 — May 7, 2026
Rabin Stephens, age 87, passed away the morning of May 7th, 2026, at home with his wife by his side.
He was born April 28, 1939, to Lee & Nelis Stephens in Kentucky. He was the youngest of 8 children. At the age of 17, he chose to enlist in the US Army and serve his country.
In 1957, he married Tessie Layne, the love of his life. Brought together by familial bonds, Ray and Tess found one another at an early age. Their loving bond resulted in 69 wonderful years of marriage. They chose to raise their children in Indiana. Then, in 1983, they moved to Texas. They built a new life and a new home. And the family flourished around them.
Rabin touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing him. He is beloved for his quick wit, generous heart, and knack for making everyone laugh. He was known for his tenacity, warm personality, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. He approached every pursuit with passion and determination and took great pride in doing things the right way. His selflessness, warmth, and generous spirit will be remembered forever. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that lives on in all of us.
Rabin is survived by his wife, Tessie Stephens; his eldest son, Michael Stephens; his daughter, Pamela Abbott and her husband, Richard Abbott; his son, Richard Stephens and his wife, Wendy Stephens; his daughter, Jennifer Taylor and her husband, Derek Taylor; and 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
