Services for Herbert J. Roth, PhD, 86, of Keene, Texas will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 in the Rosser Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Keene Memorial Park.
Dr. Roth passed away on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 in Cleburne, Texas. He was born April 18, 1925 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to William and Regina Megis Roth. Dr. Roth served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He married Irene Grippin on July 20, 1952 in Sayre, Pennsylvania. Dr. Roth retired from Southwestern Adventist University in Keene where he was Chairman of the English Department. He was a member of the Keene Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Dr. Roth was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Roth; and sister, Jean Roth.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Roth of Keene, Texas; daughter, Dorene Arauzo and husband Art. C. Arauzo, M.D. of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Alektra, Avalon, and Adonis Arauzo; and brother, Wilbert A. Roth, M.D. and wife Lisa of San Francisco, California.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to Herbert and Irene Roth Scholarship Fund, SWAU, at 100 Hillcrest Dr., Keene, Texas 76059 or the charity of choice.
